About product

L1500A (Kfz.70) 1:35 – MiniArt

An injection-molded plastic kit of the German off-road personnel car L1500A (Kfz.70) from MiniArt in 1:35 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a detailed plastic kit with the body and the chassis broken down into many parts. For the exact contents of the box (the number of parts, any photo-etched parts, decals) go by the instructions enclosed and the markings on the box.

The real subject

The L1500A was a light truck and personnel car with four-wheel drive developed by Mercedes-Benz. In the Kfz.70 form it served as an off-road car for carrying a crew - it took the driver and several more soldiers. The open body could be covered with a folding roof and side canvas against bad weather. The cars were built in the first half of the war and were used by many units as a liaison and transport vehicle.

Building and painting tips

This is a vehicle with many fine parts - it pays to spray and weather the engine, the chassis and the interior separately before the body is closed up. Lay the base over a primer and use thinned paints in the airbrush; Dunkelgelb shades and the early gray are both common. Bring the interior and the seats to life with a wash and a dry brush, and apply dust pigments to the tires and the underside. If the kit contains photo-etched parts, fit them with cyanoacrylate glue at the very end.

Who the model is for

  • For anyone interested in German military vehicles and rear-area equipment of the Second World War
  • For collectors of cars in 1:35 scale
  • For more advanced modelers who will appreciate a detailed build and its use in a diorama

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
