A kit of street lamps in 1:35 scale, seven resin parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second lamp set from this manufacturer holds seven resin castings. Against the first set, which has four, it is therefore a larger package, and that shows in a scene: one lamp is a detail, several lamps in a row are already a street. Lighting is in fact the one element of an urban scene that leads the eye into the distance and settles where the roadway runs, even where it is buried under rubble.
The post of a light is thin, tall and symmetrical, that is exactly what kit plastic does badly and what resin manages well. A casting will carry a fine arm and a profiled base without bending. At the same time, empty space above roof level is rare on a diorama, and a vertical element fills it better than anything else.
Separate the thin parts from their gates by cutting, never by breaking. Any bend in a casting can be straightened by dipping it in hot water and pulling it slowly true; once cooled it holds the shape. A degreased surface will take a metal primer, on which a cast iron finish or a peeling coat builds well. Leave the glass parts clear and add only a faint greenish layer; a thin coat of clear varnish will give the shine.
A lamp among ruins tends to be bent or snapped off; leaving all seven standing straight looks improbable on a battlefield.
The form of street lighting differed from town to town, so it pays to find a period photograph of the area you are building. The spacing of the posts along a roadway tended to be regular, the height constant and the arm always turned over the traffic lane.
