A special release of the well-known kit from RYE FIELD MODEL that combines a completely fitted-out vehicle interior with clear parts. The transparent sections of the hull and the turret let the worked-out interior stay visible even once the model is finished, so the dilemma of whether to close all that work away falls away. The model in 1:35 scale is as much a display piece as a demonstration of the structure of a tank.
The designation M4A3 76W HVSS describes the late and most capable form of the American medium tank. The letters conceal a gasoline V8, a longer 76 millimeter gun, wet ammunition stowage that lowered the risk of fire and above all a new suspension with horizontal springs and wide tracks. It was that suspension that gave the vehicle better mobility over soft ground and earned it a nickname among the troops referring to its smoother ride. Tanks in this configuration fought in the closing stage of the war in Europe and later in Korea as well.
Finish and paint the interior before you start closing the hull, and keep checking what will actually be visible through the clear parts. Protect the clear sections from glue and fingerprints, and clean them up by polishing rather than with coarse paper. Spray the outer finish with the transparent sections masked and keep the weathering restrained, so that the view inside stays readable.
The contents of the box are unassembled sprues without paint. Paints and glue are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
