The Merkava Mk.3 is an Israeli main battle tank with the powerplant at the front and the crew entering through the rear. The outside of the vehicle is densely covered with small items: handles, baskets, covers, chains and the gear that crews carry with them. These are exactly the things that give a tank its own character, and a kit from the box captures only part of them.
This is a large set of exterior details for the Merkava Mk.3 kit from Meng in 1:35 scale, designated as the V1 version. It adds elements to the outside of the hull and the turret that bring the model closer to the real vehicle, without you having to make them yourself from wire and plastic profiles.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and fit the parts in an order that leaves access to the pieces already glued in place. Fitting may call for removing some detail from the kit, so try every spot dry first. Cut away the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Cement for polystyrene may not act on these parts, while super glue holds reliably. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and apply a primer that the following coats will hold onto well.
The set is for more advanced modelers who want to take the Merkava all the way in detail and do not mind a longer session with small parts.
The set adds to a kit that it does not contain. Paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
