The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a German fighter of the Second World War and complemented the slender Bf 109 in service. Its recognition features are a short, stocky fuselage with an air-cooled BMW 801 fourteen-cylinder radial engine and a wide main landing gear track, which made the aircraft far more obliging on an airfield than its contemporaries. The A series versions are fighters, and the A-5 to A-8 designations distinguish successive changes to the armament, the armor and the equipment. The F series is derived from them as a ground-attack version with strengthened pilot protection and racks for bombs.
These are masking stencils cut to the outline of the control surfaces, that is the rudder and elevators, the ailerons and the flaps. Their designation ties them to Fw 190 kits of the listed versions from Eduard in 1:48 scale. They save the modeler measuring out and sticking narrow strips of tape along rounded edges, where the tape ripples of its own accord.
Lay the mask on the model before spraying. The surface must be dry, clean and degreased; on a greasy finish the edge will not bed down and paint will creep under it. Apply the paint in thin coats and direct the flow perpendicular to the surface, not at an angle under the edge of the mask. Take the stencil off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch and pull it back over itself rather than straight up. Follow the instructions of the set's manufacturer for the placement of the individual pieces.
The package contains masking stencils. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
