The Pz.Kpfw.IV was the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War and the only German type to stay in production from its beginning right to its end. The Ausf.H version was built in the largest numbers. It carried a 75 mm gun designated L/48, where the number gives the barrel length in calibers, and it was usually completed by side armor screens known as Schürzen. Late-production machines differ from earlier ones in a number of simplifications and small changes to the running gear.

According to the name, workable tracks are included, which are made up of individual links and stay movable once assembled. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the range of parts and the marking options are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Assemble the workable tracks in longer sections on a flat surface and keep checking that link sits on link with no play. Deal with the sag of the upper run only after it is seated on the running gear, when the track hangs under its own weight. Dry-fit the parts before gluing, cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the rest smooth. Leave the side screens until last, so that they do not get in the way while you paint the hull.
Assembling tracks from individual links takes longer than a one-piece track and calls for patience, but the reward is a faithful sag and the option of hanging the track loose.
