A resin figure set of the crew of the Schwimmwagen car in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mantis Miniatures. The figures are cast in resin and shaped to be fitted into a model of the amphibious car. The set is intended to be finished by brush and to complete the vehicle; work with resin suits advanced modelers.
The Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen was a light German amphibious car of the Second World War used for reconnaissance and communication. A crew set will fill the seats of the model and turn a static car into a living subject. The figures help suggest a move, a patrol or a halt in the field.
First wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is practical to paint the figure before the final assembly; a primer, shaded layers of acrylic or oil paint and bringing out the face and the uniform with glazing and a dry brush all prove their worth.
