Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German armored half-track Sd.Kfz.251/22 in the Ausf.D version from AFV Club. The subject is the Pakwagen variant with a 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun mounted in the body. The kit offers a detailed fighting compartment interior, a metal aluminum barrel, a brass shield and photo-etched parts; it also includes the option of open or closed ammunition lockers.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was the standard German medium armored half-track carrier of the Second World War, built in many variants. The 251/22 version appeared at the end of the war as an improvised tank destroyer: a potent 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun was fitted into the body of the carrier. The mobile solution gave the infantry a powerful anti-tank weapon at hand.
First finish and paint the inside of the body and the gun mounting before you close up the sides. The open body leaves the interior visible, so careful shading and accenting of the details pay off. Apply mud and dust pigments to the running gear and the underside and dark washes in the recesses. The metal barrel and the brass shield add to the realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
