Freedom Model Kits ROCAF F-5E and F-5F, the anniversary release of the 7th Wing is a caricature plastic kit in the egg models style: a foreshortened fuselage and an oversized canopy instead of a faithful reduction. The model is not built to any fixed scale.

A plastic kit in the caricature form that is called an egg model or a cute model. The aircraft is pulled into a stocky shape with an oversized canopy and short flying surfaces, so it is not a reduction in an exact scale but a stylization. The name refers to the single-seat F-5E and the two-seat F-5F in the anniversary finish of the Taiwanese 7th Wing. The package is small, there are markedly fewer parts than in an ordinary scale model and the build is correspondingly shorter.
The F-5E and F-5F Tiger II are light supersonic aircraft with a pair of jet engines and a simple structure that is easy to maintain. The single-seat F-5E carried out fighter and light attack duties, while the two-seat F-5F has a tandem cockpit and was used mainly for training. The Republic of China Air Force operated these machines for a long time and moved them into the training role after they were withdrawn from the front line.
The caricature shape forgives small inaccuracies of form, but the quality of the surface shows all the more. Fill and sand the fuselage joints over, because on a small area every scratch is conspicuous. Lay the paint on in thin coats, best with an airbrush, because on round surfaces brush strokes tell. Overcoat the base with gloss varnish before the decals, and once it has dried, matte the surface down. Paint the small parts such as the landing gear or the external stores while they are still on the sprue and cut them off only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
