An exceptionally substantial plastic set from Takom in 1:35 scale. In one box you will find two complete kits of the famous Sherman from two different eras, complemented by a light utility vehicle (the American quarter-ton truck) and a figure. Two eras of the same tank side by side are the main appeal of this release.
The first model is the American M4A1(76W) VVSS in its later production form: a Sherman with a 76 mm gun, a cast hull and wet stowage for the ammunition for a lower risk of an explosion. The second is the Israeli M51 Degem Alef, a modernized Sherman with a powerful French 105 mm gun with a prominent muzzle brake. On top of that the package contains the utility vehicle already mentioned and a figure. The particular number of parts and marking options is given in the contents of the box.
On tracked vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull. Check how the tracks fit over the rollers. Use thin cement on the plastic, sand the joints over and fill the gaps. Because you are building two different tanks, take care not to mix up the turrets, guns and accessories of the two versions, as each has its own shape.
The American and the Israeli Sherman carry different period schemes: the olive drab of the Second World War against the Israeli desert shade. It is better to check the particular color and markings for both. Weathering suits military vehicles: washes into the engraved lines, pigments for dust and mud on the running gear, a dry brush for worn paint and hints of rust. The following will come in handy:
