Set of masking templates in 1:35 scale for a model of the Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter. It serves to cover the glazing and other surfaces before the paint is sprayed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk is an American helicopter derived from the UH-60 Black Hawk and adapted for search and rescue duties in a combat area. It differs from the basic form in its additional equipment, which on a model shows above all in the articulated surface of the fuselage and the extensive glazing of the cockpit.
These are masking templates in 1:35 scale. They cover the glazing and other surfaces that are to stay free of paint after spraying, so the glazing frames come out straight and sharp with no drawn-out cutting of tape directly on the model. The work is thereby shortened to a few minutes and the result is repeatable.
Apply the templates to a cleaned and degreased surface before spraying and press the edges down carefully so that no paint runs underneath. Apply the paint in several thin coats, because a heavy coat makes a step at the edge of the mask. Lift the mask shortly after the paint has dried, while it can still be peeled off in one piece; the point of a scalpel or fine-jawed tweezers will help. Then inspect the edge against the light and level off any overrun.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who cannot get straight cockpit frames with tape and by anyone who wants to save time. Before building, compare the shape of the templates with the parts of your kit and follow the instructions from the maker of the set. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
