An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-64B main battle tank in the Mod 1984 version, in 1:35 scale from the production of Trumpeter. The model offers a detailed hull and turret, individual track links and, according to the manufacturer, photo-etched parts and a clear part for the optics as well. The T-64 was developed in Kharkiv as a main battle tank of a new generation. The fundamental novelty was the autoloader for the 125 mm gun, which made it possible to leave out one crew member and keep the tank compact and relatively light. The T-64B version brought an improved fire control system and the ability to launch guided anti-tank missiles through the barrel. The Mod 1984 form included changes to the frontal armor and the equipment. The tank formed the backbone of the Soviet tank units and was deployed in mountainous and demanding conditions as well.
Assemble the running gear and the individual track links first, and only then close up the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and mask the clear optics while spraying. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush and pick out the panel lines and the detail with a wash. Complete the typical wear of a tank in service with mud, dust and pigments.
