A set of workable track links for a model of the Tiger I tank of late production in 1:35 scale. The links build into a run of track that stays flexible.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the tracks supplied with the kit of the Tiger I tank in its late production form. On a model of a heavy tank the track is a display item: it runs along the whole side, it is the first thing the eye catches in any photograph and its shape gives away how carefully the builder worked. Individual links give a markedly sharper shape than a run assembled from a few long pieces.
The links go together so that they can turn against each other at the joint. The finished run can then be bent to follow the wheels exactly when it is fitted and tensioned over the drive sprocket and the idler wheel. On the Tiger I that property has a particular importance: the machine had no return rollers and the upper run of the track rested directly on the top road wheels, so the track follows their outline instead of hanging loose. That is exactly what is hard to imitate with a stiff one-piece part.
Count the links first and split them between the two sides, and only then start assembling. Remove the excess material and the marks of manufacture from them before assembly, or the joint will seize. Build the run on a flat surface in shorter sections and try it on the model as you go. Fit it once the suspension is finished but the hull is not yet painted, because a brush will have trouble reaching the space between the wheels afterwards. The way the links are joined is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
