A photo-etched set of engine deck grilles for the Panther Ausf. D in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model. It replaces the plastic cooling grilles with fine brass etch with a realistic see-through effect. The target kit is the ICM one.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set made of thin brass sheet, not a stand-alone tank model. The set replaces the coarsely molded plastic grilles above the engine compartment with faithful etched parts that really are see-through and have the fine structure of a screen. It is intended for plastic kits of the Panther Ausf. D medium tank in 1:35 scale.
The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausf. D was the first production version of the German Panther medium tank, deployed from 1943 and first used in larger numbers during the fighting at Kursk. It was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine and its main armament was a long 75 mm gun. The cooling grilles above the engine compartment are among the places most exposed to the eye, where replacing coarse plastic with etch shows the most.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife or etch scissors and form the bends with a photo-etch bending tool. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) for bonding, degrease the metal surfaces before painting and treat them with primer for metal. An airbrush is recommended for even coverage of the fine mesh. According to the manufacturer, the accessory is cut for the ICM kit.
This is an accessory for advanced modelers; the basic plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
