About product

Eduard 1:350 IJN ladders - photo-etched set

This photo-etched set is not a kit but a detail accessory. It contains fine ship ladders and steps for models of Japanese warships in 1:350 scale. You use them to replace coarse plastic parts or to add details that the base kit lacks. It is made by the Czech firm Eduard, a leading brand of photo-etched parts.

What the set is for

Photo-etched ladders, walkways and steps, together with railings, belong to the details that give a ship model a fidelity correct for its scale. The parts are cut from the fret and shaped as needed to suit their place on the superstructure, the turrets and the sides of the hull.

Usage tips

Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp knife; a photo-etch bending tool helps with bending the steps and treads. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with glue for photo-etched parts. Degrease the brass before painting, spray it with primer and paint it in the color of the ship.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of Japanese warships in 1:350 scale
  • Modelers used to working with photo-etched parts
  • Collectors of Imperial Japanese Navy subjects

This is an accessory, not a ship model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
