A detailed multimedia set of American anti-aircraft armament for models of US Navy warships in 1:350 scale from the Polish brand Master. The package contains six complete 40mm/56 Bofors twin mountings in version 1, supplemented by the Mk-51 director. The set combines resin parts for the mounting and the body of the weapon, precisely turned metal barrels and etched sheet details, so that the result far surpasses the usual plastic moldings.
The Swedish Bofors gun of 40 mm caliber became the backbone of the anti-aircraft defense of the US Navy in the Second World War. In its twin naval mounting it was fitted to cruisers, destroyers and smaller vessels and was among the most effective weapons against Japanese air attacks. The Mk-51 director with its optical sighting gear controlled the fire of individual mountings and markedly raised the accuracy.
First wash the resin parts free of the remains of mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue the resin, the metal barrels and the etched sheet with cyanoacrylate. Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting and spray in thin coats with an airbrush; the small details come out once they are picked out with a wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete ship model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
