A set of accurately rendered resin AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles (4 pcs) from Reskit in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic missiles from a boxed kit with a more faithful copy carrying crisp edges and fine surface detail.
The AIM-9X Sidewinder is the latest generation of the American short-range infrared missile. It has an imaging IR seeker (focal plane array), thrust vectoring and off-boresight capability. It is carried by the F-15, F-16 and F/A-18 fighters.
This is a resin (3D-printed) set for experienced modelers. First wash any print residue off the parts, cut off the supports and sand the surfaces down - protect your airways when sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with ordinary cement for plastic. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting; the missiles are sprayed with an airbrush and finished with the colored markings for the particular service use.
The set is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
