Propellers, engines and cowlings for the B-24 Liberator with closed and open engine bays in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Reskit. A 3D printed accessory set.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It contains four engine units, two of them with a closed engine bay and two with an open one, plus two types of propeller to choose from. The combination of closed and open nacelles is deliberate and rewarding for a modeler: on the finished model one nacelle can be left uncovered as though maintenance were in progress and the rest closed up. The result is a scene that shows the inside of the powerplant without taking the whole aircraft apart. A radial engine with finned cylinders and a twisted propeller blade are among the things an injection mold can only suggest.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was an American four-engine bomber with a high-mounted wing of large slender section. It was powered by four air-cooled radial engines in cylindrical cowlings of an unusual elliptical shape, by which the type is recognized at first glance.
The set is for modelers who are building the B-24 in a large scale and want to show the inside of the powerplant as well. The work calls for patience in removing the supports and for painting small parts before assembly.
It is not an aircraft model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
