It replaces the production wheels on models of the British BAC/EE Lightning fighter in its early version with accurate castings with a faithful tread and a fine structure on the hubs. This variant is intended for models in the smaller 1:48 scale.
The Lightning was a Cold War interceptor, famous for its pair of stacked engines and its exceptional rate of climb. Even in a smaller scale the wheels are among the details that decide the overall impression of a model when it is looked at from close up.
Wash the parts free of release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate; sand with respiratory protection. Shade the tires with a matte dark gray and the hubs in the color appropriate to the machine. A suggested flat on the tire where it meets the ground will raise the realism.
