Eduard 1:48 Bf 109G-14 TFace is a masking set for the glazing of a Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14 model, with masks for the outside and the inside of the canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14 fighter in 1:48 scale. The parts are cut exactly to the shape of the canopy frames and the armored windscreen. The TFace version means that the package contains masks for both sides of the glazing, so you spray the frames in the camouflage shade from outside and in the interior color from inside. This is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for a kit.
The Bf 109G-14 was a late production version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter, built from the middle of 1944. It grew out of the G-6 version with the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and brought as standard the tall, angular canopy that came to be known as the Erla Haube, which offered a considerably better view to the rear. It is precisely this canopy that matters for the model: it has few frames, large areas of glass, and with the hood slid open the inner side of the frames is clearly visible.
Wash and degrease the glazing first, otherwise the mask will not hold. Separate the parts with the tip of a scalpel, transfer them with tweezers and press them into the corners of the frames with a toothpick. Spray the inside with the cockpit color first, then once it is dry fit the outer masks and carry on with the primer and the camouflage. Spray in thin coats so that the paint does not creep under the edge. Take the mask off shortly after it has dried. On late machines it pays to show the cockpit open, because the Erla Haube slid to the side and the interior is then clearly visible.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
