A resin (3D-printed) replica of the D-704 Buddy external refueling store in its early form, 1:48 scale, one piece. It is an aftermarket accessory from Reskit for models of American carrier attack aircraft that carried it in the role of an airborne tanker.
The D-704 Buddy store made so-called buddy-buddy refueling in flight possible: an aircraft carrying this tank passed fuel to another machine through an extending hose and drogue. Carrier attack aircraft such as the A-4, the A-6 and the A-7 operated with this equipment above all.
Wash the part free of print resin residue, separate it from the print support and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand any marks left by the supports with respiratory protection. Apply primer and finish with an airbrush; small technical markings will underline the realism.
