An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic F-105D Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model is made up of parts in light gray plastic and clear parts for the cockpit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and it is a fairly extensive kit, suited rather to more experienced modelers.
The F-105 Thunderchief was a single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber powered by a single jet engine. The F-105D version was the most widely used, and the machine became famous above all as the main strike aircraft over North Vietnam in the early stages of the war there, where it carried a large bomb load in an internal bomb bay and on external racks.
Use liquid cement for plastic models, applied into the seams by capillary action. Finish and paint the cockpit, the landing gear and the interior before you close the fuselage up. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. Bring out the panel lines and the recessed details with a wash and finally even the surface out with a varnish of the sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
