The F-106A Delta Dart was an American single-seat interceptor with a delta wing. It served with the air defense units of the United States and its main armament was hidden in an internal weapons bay, so the external shape stayed clean. The cockpit was among the things that draw the eye most on a model, and it is exactly what this set is aimed at.
The set brings color interior elements with a raised relief in 1:48 scale. They replace the flat printing of the decals from the box and give the instrument panels and the side consoles a depth that brush painting alone cannot manage. The dimensions are based on the shapes of the kit from Trumpeter, so the elements follow the surfaces of the cockpit parts and leave no needless step once seated.
Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements have an adhesive backing. The method of application differs between the individual ranges and is given in the instructions enclosed with the set. Prepare the surface in advance: spray the cockpit parts with a base color in the interior shade and let them dry thoroughly. Then seat the elements with tweezers and press them down with a cotton bud so that they settle into the corners as well. Work one piece at a time and give the cockpit your undivided attention, as a seated element can hardly be corrected.
The set suits modelers who are building the cockpit with the canopy open and want legible instruments in it without lengthy painting. The package contains only the interior elements. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
