1:48 F-4E Phantom II pre-cut painting masks from Reskit are meant for painting the heavily divided glazing of the Phantom model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from Reskit holds pre-cut painting masks for the model of the two-seat F-4E Phantom II in 1:48 scale. It is a painting aid, not a kit: the individual shapes are lifted off the backing, stuck onto the areas that are to stay clean and removed once the spraying is done. Check that the set matches your kit before ordering.
The F-4E is the two-seat version of the heavy Phantom II fighter with a built-in cannon in the nose and a reshaped nose for the radar. The cockpit of both crew members is covered by a multi-part canopy with prominent frames and side panels, so the model has a great many edges over a small area, and masking them by hand is very slow work.
With a divided canopy it pays to go one part at a time and to put the masks on in the order in which you will assemble the cockpit. Try the shape dry first and only then press it down; anyone who masks straight down for good usually loses one mask extra. Run a blunt tool over the edges so that the paint does not creep under, and let the material go tacky between coats. If you are spraying a two-color camouflage, let the first shade dry longer before you start taping over it, otherwise the mask will grip the soft finish. Remove any adhesive residue after peeling with a dry cloth or a cotton bud, not with an aggressive thinner.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
