A plug is shaped to the bay of one particular kit. This set is for the Zoukei-Mura kit in 1:48 scale and for nothing else. Omask makes further plug sets for the Phantom, among them sets for the Hasegawa kit in 1:48 scale, for the Academy kit in 1:48 scale and for the Hasegawa kit in 1:72 scale. The sets cannot be swapped, because every manufacturer shapes and sizes the bays differently. Check the box of the kit you are building before you order: this is the most common reason why the wrong Phantom accessory ends up on the bench.
A landing gear bay is a deep cavity that the modeler paints first. When the model is then sprayed from the outside, the bay has to be masked, or the finished interior is ruined by overspray. Masking a deep irregular cavity with tape and cotton wool is a nuisance and still does not seal. A plug fits the bay exactly and seals it: it is inserted, the model is sprayed and after drying the plug is pulled out. It also protects the bay during sanding and against dust. The plugs are made of flexible foam, and foam compresses inside the bay and seals itself, so it does not have to fit to hundredths of a millimeter like a rigid 3D print and it holds without glue.
The F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat twin-engine multirole fighter and one of the most widespread combat aircraft of the Cold War. At first glance you recognize it by the dihedral of the outer wing panels and the anhedral of the horizontal tail. It served with the US Air Force and the US Navy and with many export operators, which is also why several manufacturers offer it in plastic, and why it is so easy to pick the wrong accessory.
This is not a kit. The package contains only the landing gear bay plugs; the model, the paints and the glue are not part of it.
