Fujimi 1:700 Japanese battleship Nagato, full hull is a plastic kit of the battleship with 410 mm guns, and that in the version with the whole hull.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Nagato from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The full-hull version means a complete hull including the underwater part, so the model stands on a base and shows the whole shape of the vessel. The 1:700 scale is the standard for warships and keeps even a large battleship to a size that fits an ordinary display case.
The Nagato entered service in 1920 and was the first battleship in the world armed with 410 mm guns. After a major reconstruction in the 1930s she received a massive pagoda mast, new deck armor and reworked machinery. At the start of the war she served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet. Her combat use was fairly sparing, among other actions off the Philippines in 1944. She was the only Japanese battleship to come through the war afloat; after the surrender the United States used her as a target ship in the nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946, where she sank after the second explosion.
The Nagato has heavily broken-up superstructures, so it is practical to divide the build into the hull, the pagoda mast and the funnel and to paint them separately. Leave the main-caliber turrets free until the deck is painted and dry. A wooden deck can be brought out with a thin wash into the joints, while steel surfaces respond better to a restrained dry brush on the edges. Spray the underwater part separately and mask the waterline; on a model with the whole hull it is a prominent feature. For display, reckon with a base with posts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
