This is NOT an airplane model but a resin detail set - a faithfully cast early cowling with closed cooling flaps for the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The one-piece resin casting replaces the multi-part plastic cowling from the kit and does away with the seams and the need for filling.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter that became one of the key machines of the US Navy in the Pacific during the Second World War. The early F6F-3 version had a distinctive form of the engine cowling and the cooling flaps. Closed flaps match an aircraft with the engine switched off or idling quietly.
Separate the casting from the casting block, wash it free of the mold release agent and glue it with cyanoacrylate. The advantage of a one-piece cowling is a clean shape with no longitudinal seams. Spray it in the scheme of the airframe; darken the inside of the flaps. Sand resin with respiratory protection.
The set contains resin accessory parts. The kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
