1:48 Japanese 20 mm Type 99 Mark 2 cannon barrels, 4 pieces is a set of turned metal barrels for models of Japanese carrier aircraft. It is a detail accessory to a kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds four turned metal barrels of the Japanese 20 mm Type 99 Mark 2 aircraft cannon in 1:48 scale. They are made by the Polish brand MASTER. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement part for a model you already have, and it can be used on any machine armed with this weapon.
The Type 99 existed in two main configurations that differ above all in the length of the barrel: the later Mark 2 had a noticeably longer barrel than the older Mark 1. The difference is clearly visible on a model, because the barrel projects from the leading edge of the wing, so it is worth checking before buying which variant your subject carried. This set matches the Mark 2 configuration.
A plastic barrel tends to be tapered, with a parting line along its whole length and a solid muzzle. A turned metal part has the same diameter from root to muzzle, a genuine bore and a straight axis; it will not deform while the wing is sanded or during masking. Four pieces in the package leave room for a repair should one part be damaged while being seated.
Cut off the plastic barrel at the leading edge, redrill the hole to the diameter of the pin and try the depth and axis dry. Bond with a small drop of super glue; looking from the front, check that both barrels make the same angle with the wing. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer meant for metal. Leave the muzzle itself in bare metal and merely darken it lightly with graphite, or with a bluing agent, which holds on metal better than paint.
This is an accessory to a model, not a standalone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
