A resin, 3D-printed wheel set for the supersonic Lockheed F-104 Starfighter fighter in the F and G versions. It is NOT an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the landing gear wheels of the base plastic kit with more faithful parts. The wheels usually have separate tires with a rendered tread pattern and detailed hubs. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a supersonic fighter with a characteristically slender fuselage and short knife-like wings. The two-seat F-104F served for training, the single-seat F-104G as a multi-role fighter-bomber with a number of European and non-European air forces.
Cut the parts away from their blocks and wash off any production residue. The tires can be sanded lightly where they meet the ground for a realistic loaded look. Set the hubs and the tires apart in color, bring out the tread with drybrushing and add a dusty patina.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
