A replacement SJU-8/A ejection seat in the late version, 1:48 scale, for models of the LTV A-7D and A-7E Corsair II.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-7 Corsair II is a single-seat subsonic attack aircraft that came about by reworking an earlier fighter type into a machine for carrying a load of bombs and rockets. The A-7D served with the US Air Force and the A-7E with the Navy; both are among the later and most widespread versions. The SJU-8/A seat came into these aircraft as a later replacement for the original type and its form kept changing in service, which is what the late version in the name refers to.
The set brings an ejection seat as a replacement for the kit part in 1:48 scale. A replacement seat is one of the few accessories visible on a finished model even without open hatches: the cockpit of this type is glazed and the seat makes up most of what can be seen from outside.
The parts are not polystyrene and plastic cement will not join them, so use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder with fine sandpaper. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting, let them dry and apply a primer. It is best to seat the ejection seat last, once the whole cockpit is finished and dry-fitted. The detailed procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is for modelers who are bothered by the simplified seat from the box and want real detail in the cockpit. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
