About product

CMK Napier Sabre Mk.II, a British aero engine (resin)

A resin detail set from the CMK brand capturing the British Napier Sabre Mk.II aero engine of the Second World War period in 1:48 scale. It serves as an accessory for a plastic model of an aircraft powered by this engine; it is not a model of an aircraft in its own right.

The real subject

The Napier Sabre was a powerful British piston engine with the unusual layout of twenty-four cylinders in the shape of the letter H and with sleeve-valve timing. It powered combat aircraft such as the Hawker Typhoon and the Hawker Tempest and was among the most powerful piston engines of its day.

Building tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand resin with protection of the airways. If you want to present the engine exposed, count on removed cowling panels and on careful painting of the metallic shades, the runs and the ancillaries.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want to show an exposed engine
  • Builders of British fighters of the Second World War
  • Anyone interested in working with resin accessories

The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
