The real subject

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive American Second World War fighter with a radial engine and a turbosupercharger, renowned for its toughness and heavy weapons load. The Razorback version had a full raised fuselage spine behind the cockpit (unlike later aircraft with a bubble canopy and lowered rear fuselage). The Thunderbolt served both as an escort fighter and as a feared ground-attack aircraft striking targets on the ground.

Use and tips

• Clean and degrease the cockpit parts for good adhesion.
• The steel etched parts are flexible and sturdy — bend them over an edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue.
