Kinetic 1:48 ROCAF S-2A/E/G Tracker is a plastic kit of the twin-engine Grumman S-2 Tracker anti-submarine aircraft in the versions used in Taiwan. The package offers parts for the short fuselage as well as the long one.

An injection molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the maker Kinetic. The peculiarity of this edition is that in one box you will find parts for two different versions of the Tracker - the shorter fuselage and the matching wings of the S-2A version as well as the longer fuselage with the wings of the later S-2E and S-2G versions. You will therefore build one model, but you have a choice of which form of the aircraft you want to capture. The decal sheet is aimed at the machines operated in Taiwan and holds, among other things, walkways, propeller warning stripes and technical stencils.
The Grumman S-2 Tracker was the first American carrier-based aircraft able to carry both search and strike equipment for anti-submarine warfare in one machine - before that the task had to be divided between two aircraft. It was powered by two piston radial engines, had a long endurance and a roomy fuselage for the operators and the electronics. It was built from the 1950s and in many countries it flew long after the US Navy had retired it. Taiwan was among its longest-serving users, operating both the early and the later modernized versions in turn.
Sort the parts out carefully first according to the version you have chosen - mixing the fuselage of one version with the wings of the other is the classic trap of a two-in-one kit. The cockpit and the cargo compartment are clearly visible on the Tracker, so it pays to concentrate on them. Given the size and the position of the engine nacelles, check the seating of the wings with a dry fit before you reach for the glue, and do not forget weight in the nose. Build the propellers last so that they do not get in the way. For naval schemes a gloss varnish under the decals and then a matte or semi-gloss finish suit; deal with wear by bringing the panel lines out sparingly and by exhaust staining behind the engines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
