Photo-etched detail set for models of the Schwimmwagen Type 166 amphibious car 1:48 from Aber. Fine brass parts for a more faithful finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model. The set contains parts of thin brass sheet intended for models of the German Schwimmwagen Type 166 amphibious car in 1:48 scale. The set adds the fine elements that cannot be faithfully molded in plastic.
The Schwimmwagen Type 166 was a light amphibious field car derived from the Kübelwagen, able to move on land and in water. The photo-etched parts replace and add thin-walled elements such as brackets, clasps, grilles, small fittings and equipment mountings. The model thus gains a finer and more faithful look than plastic alone allows.
Cut the parts out of the fret, make the bends over a bending tool or a metal ruler and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer. Because of the small dimensions, tweezers and a steady hand come in useful.
The accessory does not include the car model itself, paints or glue. It serves only to detail a kit.
