This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model. The set contains the side armor skirts (Schürzen) in thin brass sheet for models of the German Panther Ausf.G tank and the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in 1:48 scale. Realistically thin sheet replaces the thick-walled plastic skirts from the kit.
The side skirts protected the running gear against anti-tank rifles and shaped-charge ammunition. In service they were often bent, dented or missing. Etched sheet makes it possible to suggest that damage exactly, and at a realistic thickness that plastic cannot reach. The result markedly enlivens the silhouette of the vehicle.
Cut the parts out of the fret, make the bends and the shaping over a metal ruler and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). For a damage effect, dent the sheet carefully with a blunt tool. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer.
The accessory does not include the model itself, paints or glue. It serves only to detail a kit.
