A set of gun sights of Soviet aircraft of the Second World War in 1:48 scale, in the PAK-1, PBP-1A and PBP-1B versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gun sight is a small thing that everyone who looks into an open cockpit on a finished model notices. It sits right in front of the pilot's eyes above the instrument panel, and its shape is one of the characteristic marks of a machine. This set in 1:48 scale offers the gun sights of Soviet aircraft of the Second World War carried under the designations PAK-1, PBP-1A and PBP-1B.
Replacement parts to take the place of the gun sight supplied with the kit, which on injection-molded models tends to be simplified and coarse. The parts from the set have crisper shapes and finer detail, so they stand out in the cockpit even after painting. The three different versions also let you pick the one that matches the type and the period you are modeling; the manufacturer's instructions give the particular assignment.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic will not join them. Use cyanoacrylate, or epoxy on larger gaps. Cut the excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the rest carefully so that the delicate edges are not damaged. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry, or the paint may not hold. The recommended preparation is given by the manufacturer's instructions.
The set suits the building of Soviet fighter and ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale with an open cockpit, where the gun sight is visible. A model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
