Turned metal (brass) Hispano 20 mm cannon barrels in fairings from MASTER, intended for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIb / Vb in 1:48 scale. The set is tailored to the kit from Eduard. Please note that this is not an airplane model: it is a detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrels with accurately made metal ones.
Thin plastic cannon barrels tend to be fragile and are never perfectly straight. Turned brass barrels are completely straight, have sharp muzzles and faithful geometry, including the characteristic fairings in which the Hispano barrels are housed in the Spitfire's wing. The result is markedly more realistic and more robust detail on the leading edge of the wing.
The set will be appreciated by modelers building a Spitfire in the version with Hispano cannons in 1:48 scale who want robust, accurately made metal detail instead of plastic. Working with small metal parts and cyanoacrylate glue calls for care.
