This set of waterslide decals from the Czech maker DK Decals brings markings for building models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V in 1:48 scale. The sheet offers twelve color schemes of machines used in the area of Australia and New Guinea. It is an accessory for finishing a model, not a kit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was a British fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, built in large numbers and used in many theaters. In the southwest Pacific area Spitfire Mk.Vs defended Allied positions against Japanese aviation; they served with RAF squadrons and with the Royal Australian Air Force. The machines carried distinctive camouflage and national insignia.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss finish, which prevents a matte haze under the film. Dip the item briefly, slide it into place and soak the surplus water away. A softener will help it settle, and a final matte or semi-gloss coat will unify the decals with the surface.
This is a decal set. A model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
