The Sukhoi Su-31 aerobatic single-seater has unusually large control surfaces: the ailerons run the whole span and the elevator and the rudder are sized for an instant response. When such an aircraft stands parked, the surfaces lean on their own weight and stay deflected, often each one differently. A model with all its surfaces neatly level therefore looks stiff.
This set offers the surfaces separately and adds further surface detail to the airframe. On aerobatic specials those details are usually the dividing line between a model that reads as a mock-up and a model in which the viewer believes the aircraft landed a moment ago.
It is worth adding the small external parts from the same package to the airframe and only then painting the model, otherwise an unwanted step forms around the newly glued parts. Finally check the finished deflections against a photograph of the real aircraft, because the position of the surfaces on a parked machine is surprisingly pronounced. Paints and glue are not enclosed.
