Deck tractors are machines without which the operation of an aircraft carrier could not work. They move aircraft between parking spots, the elevators and the launch position, tow them out of the hangar and back again, and do it in dense traffic on a few tens of square meters. Their shape matches that: a tractor is low so it can pass under a fuselage and under the pylons of slung armament, and at the same time heavy enough to keep traction. The AS32A-49 type serves with the US Navy, and the word short in the designation marks out the shorter variant of the machine.

Cut away the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest down so the edges and shapes are preserved. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint holds badly on a smooth surface. Choose a suitable glue according to the material of the parts, as the manufacturer's instructions give it. A small machine of this kind only comes to life through use: boot marks on the fenders, wear on the tow gear and a layer of working grime turn the model into a piece of equipment that really works.
