An injection-molded plastic kit of the spice harvester from the film world of Dune in 1:500 scale from Meng. The model is supplied as a set of parts on sprues. In its Dune range Meng uses so-called color separation of the parts, thanks to which the model can be built without glue and looks effective even unpainted. For the best result, however, gluing, painting and weathering the parts are the way to go. It is not a finished model but a kit for collectors and fans.
The spice harvester is a massive desert machine from the Dune saga that mines the precious spice melange straight out of the sand dunes on the planet Arrakis. In the film treatment it is a huge industrial vehicle accompanied by carrier machines that can lift it and take it to safety in case of danger, above all during an attack by a giant sandworm. The design combines a harsh industrial look with dimensions that recall a mobile factory.
Cut the parts from the sprues with a sharp tool and clean the sprue gates up. If you glue the model, use liquid cement for plastic. The desert look is supported by base sand and rust shades, which come out after washes and dust pigments that emphasize the grooves and the edges. Dry brushing will bring out the raised details of the structure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
