An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Chinese brand Flyhawk. It captures the British L-class destroyer HMS Legion as she was in 1941. The Deluxe version adds photo-etched metal, wire and a decal sheet to the plastic parts, so the model offers a high level of detail even in this small scale.
HMS Legion was an L-class destroyer of the Royal Navy deployed during the Second World War. Ships of this class served as convoy escorts, in the anti-aircraft role and on offensive duties. Legion operated above all in the Mediterranean, where the fighting was particularly hard.
Decide whether to build the full hull or a waterline model for the effect of the sea surface. Glue the fine plastic parts and the photo-etched metal with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); the railings and the other photo-etched parts raise the realism markedly. Apply the base shades with an airbrush and accentuate the deck and the superstructure with a fine wash. A stand or a base with a water surface works well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
