A plastic kit of the famous ocean liner R.M.S. Titanic in 1:700 scale from Meng. The model is designed to be easy to build (snap-fit) with pre-colored parts and comes with a light kit whose light strip can illuminate the cabins and suggest a luxury liner at night. A display base and a metal name plate for the ship are also included in the box.
R.M.S. Titanic was a British ocean liner of the White Star Line, at the time of her completion one of the largest and most luxurious in the world. During her maiden voyage in April 1912 she struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank, which became one of the best-known maritime disasters in history.
The pre-colored snap-fit parts make it possible to build the model even without extensive painting, but the result is lifted by details picked out by hand, such as the cranes, the ventilators and the wooden decks brought out with a fine wash. Test the light kit before the hull is closed up. The hull with its ribbed plating benefits from an airbrushed base coat to even out the shade.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and batteries are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
