1:700 USS Hopper DDG-70 is a plastic kit of the American Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer in 1:700 scale from Hobby Boss.

An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern American guided missile destroyer in 1:700 scale. The upper part of the hull is shaped by a multi-directionally split mold, the sonar dome under the bow is a separate part and the kit offers a full-hull as well as a waterline version. The box holds two SH-60B helicopters, one with the rotor turning and one with it folded, as well as the Mk 45 gun, close-in weapon systems and a stand.
USS Hopper belongs to the early Flight I subversion of the Arleigh Burke class, which is distinguished from the later ships by a stern without helicopter hangars. Construction began in 1995 and the ship entered service in 1997; her home port is Pearl Harbor. She is named after a distinguished officer of the US Navy who made her mark on the history of computing. The basis of the combat value is the Aegis system and the vertical launching cells.
Choose in advance between a model on a stand and a waterline form, because the way the lower part of the hull is glued differs. Apply the gray shades with an airbrush in thin coats, otherwise the fine engraved details of the superstructures will be lost. Mark out the flight deck at the stern with a mask, not with a brush. Fit the radar faces, antennas and the mast only after the basic painting is finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
