The Flyhawk 1:700 detail set for the battlecruiser HMS Hood 1941 is an accessory for a ship model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for ship modelers working in 1:700 scale from the Flyhawk brand. The set replaces the plastic parts of a model of the British battlecruiser HMS Hood as she was in 1941 with finer components, above all railings, ladders, platforms and other thin structures. It is cut for one specific kit of this battlecruiser in 1:700 scale, so it need not fit another model. The ship kit is not included in the package. The difference between plastic and photo-etched railings is visible on the finished model even from a distance, because the thin silhouette lets light through.
For two decades HMS Hood was the largest warship in the world, and the Royal Navy sent her on overseas cruises as a showpiece of the empire. As a battlecruiser, though, she was built for speed at the expense of armor, and in May 1941 that meant disaster in her duel with Bismarck: the ship blew up and three men of her crew survived.
The set is intended for experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
