1:72 A/A42R-1

An accessory for aircraft models in 1:72 scale

The set designated A/A42R-1 belongs among the accessories for aircraft models in 1:72 scale. Accessories of this kind are bought to go with a kit you already own and serve to give the finished model the detail that kit production simplifies or leaves out. Exactly what the box holds and which kit the set is aimed at does not follow from the designation, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before building.

How to work with the parts

• Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, degrease them and let them dry.
• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off flush.
• Try the seating dry and only then glue; with accessories the fit is often brought home by sanding.
• Secure the joint with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger faces a two-part adhesive helps.
• Lay on a thin coat of primer before painting, which will show the spots that still need sanding.
• Set the small parts out beforehand on a tray with a raised edge so that you do not lose them.

Who it is for

For a modeler who builds in 1:72 scale and knows which project the accessory is needed for. Working with add-on parts means a steady hand and a willingness to try the part dry, so it need not be your very first build. In 1:72 scale the parts are small, and tweezers and good light pay off.

Paints, glue and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
