Responsibility details are not available.
Kit of the German First World War floatplane fighter in 1:72 scale, in its late production version. It is an injection-molded plastic model from Roden. The box contains plastic parts on sprues, a decal sheet and building instructions.
The Albatros W.4 was a floatplane fighter biplane derived from the land-based Albatros machines, intended to defend the German naval bases along the Flanders coast. In place of landing gear it had a pair of floats. The late version received four ailerons and radiators built into the wings, along with slightly shortened struts between the fuselage and the floats, which improved handling. It was a fairly rare and specialized type in Imperial German naval aviation.
Seating the floats on the slender struts calls for patience; glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue and take care over the correct dihedral of both wings. Once it is assembled, add the rigging. Paint the cockpit and the engine before you close up the fuselage; an airbrush is ideal for the fabric areas and for any lozenge pattern. Apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
