A replacement clear canopy for a model of the Bf 109 G-6 fighter in the form with the Erla Haube hood, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 is a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War and the most numerously built form of the G series. The later machines were given a different canopy hood, known under the designation Erla Haube: it has a larger glazed area, fewer dividing frames and no transverse brace over the pilot's head, so the pilot could watch the space behind the tail considerably better. On a model it is one of the details by which it can be told how late a machine you are building.
A replacement clear canopy for a model in 1:72 scale, made in the form with the Erla Haube hood. You will use it where this form of canopy is missing from a kit, or where you want the glazing finer and cleaner. How many parts the package holds and whether the canopy can be fitted slid back is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Take clear parts by the edges; fingerprints are harder to remove from them than it seems. After separating, clean the edges up with fine abrasive paper and restore the transparency of the surfaces by polishing. Glue with an adhesive intended for clear parts, which does not cloud the surface; the fumes of super glue will fog glazing and putting that right tends to be difficult. Finish and paint the cockpit interior before you seat the canopy. Mask the frames before spraying and apply the paint in thin coats, so that the dividing line of the frame stays crisp.
The canopy alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
