A resin set of CFM56-7B powerplants in 1:72 scale for models of the Boeing 737 airliner in the 700 and 800 versions. It brings a more accurate shape of the nacelles and fine detail that is hard to capture in injected plastic.
The CFM56-7B powerplant serves the newer generation of the Boeing 737 and is made by a joint venture of the American and French engine industries. Its characteristic feature is the flattened lower part of the nacelle. Because of the low-set wing and the small clearance beneath it, the intake could not be made circular, and it is exactly this detail that decides whether a finished model looks convincing. The castings capture that shape, including the form of the inner wall of the intake.
Before building, wash the parts and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the casting remains away and polish the leading edge of the intake carefully with a fine abrasive, because it is a prominent surface to look at. Cyanoacrylate glue makes the joint. The metallic look of the intake ring is imitated well with polished metallic shades applied only after the main paint of the fuselage and the wings.
This is an add-on set; the kit itself has to be obtained separately.
