This is a set of pre-cut masks, an accessory to a kit — and that kit is the one from Special Hobby. The model is not in the package. The set covers two forms of the same airframe, the A-20C bomber and the P-70 night fighter, which differ mainly in the nose and the armament while their cockpit glazing is very similar.
The Douglas A-20 was an American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft that grew out of the DB-7 design and was built in large numbers. It was fast, carried a crew of three and had high-set engine nacelles. The A-20C version was the form that unified the requirements of American and British customers and went in quantity to Allied deliveries as well. The P-70 Nighthawk came about by converting the same airframe into a night fighter: the glazed nose gave way to radar and a pack of gun armament was added under the fuselage. These machines served mainly in training and in the Pacific theater.
The cockpit of the A-20 is made up of several separate glazed sections, so lay the masks out side by side according to the drawing first and only then stick them down. Degrease the glazing and do not touch it with your fingers. Press the masks down from the center toward the edges so that no air stays under them. When you then spray, make sure the stream of paint does not come at a sharp angle against the edge of a mask. The cleanest result comes from this order: the interior shade, a thin coat of the base color as insurance against bleeding, and only then the camouflage itself. Take the mask off by pulling it back over itself rather than straight up, or the paint on the edge of the frame may come away with it.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
